If its true that "bad things come in 3's" then thank the good Lord, we are done!
First it was the speedometer/odometer issue last Wednesday. Then we hit the deer Thursday night.
Would you beleive that last night when we got to Glendive, MT, the turbo went out in our truck? For those who don't know truck lingo (and trust me I'm among your numbers) the turbo is basically what gives the truck power to pull its 80,000lbs over hills. And if you are even slightly familiar with eastern Montana, you know its rather hilly, being the foothills of the Rockies. And as you know we were heading to Spokane, so we had major mountains to pass over.
Long story short, we limped to Billings, where we spent the night at home. Kenworth was booked for the day, so we ran the truck to Peterbuilt. They claimed, after several hours, that it was a corroded sensor, and they cleaned it. Don't ask me how, after 3 short months on the road, our sensors are corroded. Neither of us think that's what the real problem is.
Regardless, its supposedly fixed and running fine for now. We're on our way again. In the mean time we ran errands in town that needed done. It was COLD today! I don't think it ever went above zero! Its the finger burning, skin chapping kind of cold!
Keeping our fingers crossed that the load of peas bound for South Carolina is still waiting for us. If we can get it loaded in a timely manner, we can still get it there by Friday morning, though our stop in Chattanooga is probably out.
I plan to make a more happy cheerful post tomorrow. I'm going to show you how I made some Christmas ornaments. I hope it works, but if I don't get to it tomorrow, I'll try for the next day. I'm hoping this will be the last of my "troubles" posts.
Stay warm and I'll be around sometime tomorrow.

The weather is so crazy these days you never know what's going to happen from one day to the next.
Bummer about the turbo, at least ya got to spend the day at home and not at some shop in the middle of nowhere, great post on the ornaments. Be safe on the trip to SC if ya got the load and warm up, I'm on my way to Chi-town..:-)
Here's to a trouble free rest of 2009!
